• What school do you go to to learn how to draw?
Actually I am self-taught. My college (IADT) doesn't teach me how to draw because I'm majoring in Graphic Design. It teaches me the basics like color theory and typography. I taught myself how to draw with lots of trial and error and practice. Going to school for art won't magically make you a better artist, it just teaches you how to better apply basic fundamentals to what you do.
• When did you start drawing?
I first started giving a shit about drawing about 6 years ago. I've been drawing for fun since I could pick up a pencil though.
• What inspires you to draw what you draw?
Whatever I am feeling at the moment, I will draw. I look at admirable artwork and observe what I like. If I'm sad as hell, I'll draw my personification of my feelings. I draw usually when I'm pretty emotional though lol. I listen to a lot of music while I'm drawing, too.
• What music do you listen to?
I listen to basically everything but mainly K-Pop and heavy metal. K-Pop makes me in a good mood and some damn good heavy metal makes me feel f'ing unstoppable!!
• Can we be friends?
Lollllll well we can't just instantaneously become friends, I think it's something that just happens over time.
• You never replied to my comment or note. Do you hate me?
Probably not? XD I am an extremely busy, full-time college student and it's really difficult for me to reply to every single thing I receive. I try my hardest to read every single thing I receive. When it comes to notes, it's hard for me to discern an important note from a non-important one, so I really apologize for that.
• What do you like doing in your spare time besides drawing?
I like spending time with friends, shopping, reading up on awesome beauty tips, watching youtube videos, and playing piano.
• How do you get your pencil sketches so clean?
My pencil sketches.... are SO NOT clean. They only look clean because when I scan it in the computer, I adjust the brightness and contrast which removes most of the ugly marks in pencil sketches. I have a quick trick when sketching though, I put a clean piece of paper under the hand I draw with on top of the piece I'm drawing so it will avoid smudging.
• I'm just starting out CGing, which program do you recommend?
Whichever you feel most comfortable with. Try out a bunch of programs and see which one you like the most. Because in my honest opinion, it's not the art program that makes you a good artist, it's YOU and how you use the program.
• Do you ever use references?
As much as possible I do not use references unless I absolutely must. I will link in my artist comments if I did use a reference.
• How long does it usually take to finish a drawing?
I never keep track of how long it takes me because I get bored easily and always take breaks. But I'd have to say between 2-10 hours is the usual time.
• How often do you draw?
Sporadically whenever I feel like drawing. It's usually once or twice a week.
• Will you make a tutorial?
I'm considering it, but honestly I don't really have the time to make it lately
• You use textures, but how do you apply it the way you do in your artwork?
